LEVEL CONTENTS FOR TEACHING TURKISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
TURKISH FOR FOREIGNERS (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is a common assessment and reference system established for foreign language learning in Europe. This system evaluates language proficiency in different areas within a common framework.
Turkish language courses for foreigners are offered at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels:
Beginner Level (Basic language use)
Intermediate Level (Independent language use)
Advanced Level (Proficient language use)
BEGINNER LEVEL (A1-A2)
Level A1
At this level, a person can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases related to concrete needs. They can introduce themselves and others and ask and answer questions about themselves, such as where they live, who they know, or what they have. They can communicate at a basic level if the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is willing to help.
Level A2
A person at this level can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance (e.g., information about themselves and their family, shopping, work, and their immediate surroundings). They can communicate in simple and direct situations involving simple and direct information exchange on familiar and routine matters. They can describe where they come from, their educational background, their environment, and things directly related to their needs in simple terms.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL (B1-B2)
B1 Level
At this level, a person can understand the main points of conversations when standard language is used and when the topics are familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. They can cope with most situations encountered in places where Turkish is spoken. They can express themselves easily and coherently on familiar topics and areas of interest. They can recount experiences and events, describe their dreams, expectations, and goals.
B2 Level
A person at this level can understand the main points of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics. When it comes to their own field, they can also understand discussions in these areas. In ordinary conversations with native Turkish speakers, they can express themselves fluently in a way that both parties can understand each other without significant difficulty. They can express their ideas clearly and in detail on a wide range of topics and give their opinion on a current issue.
ADVANCED LEVEL (C1-C2)
C1 Level
At this level, a person can understand rich and lengthy texts on a wide range of subjects and grasp logical connections. They can express themselves fluently without having to search for words frequently. They can use the language effectively and flexibly in social life, work life, or vocational training and higher education. They can express detailed opinions on complex topics in a clear and well-organized manner, connecting with other texts as needed using different strategies.
Academic Turkish
As linguistic input, they can perceive and convey various themes in the fields of Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Health Sciences. They can carry out work on word derivation, collocation, and the distinction between everyday and academic language.
